Christina & Malcolm’s Marnong Estate Wedding

Wow, what an amazing day is all I can say, Christina & Malcolm had the most perfect conditions for a wedding at the most iconic venue of the west, Marnong Estate in Mickleham. Gorgeous sun all day and a semi gentle breeze that put everyone in an amazing mood to have an epic party to celebrate these two beautiful people. Malcolm being a fellow photography enthusiast (Sony man of course) put his trust in me to come up with fab ideas for poses and they both took on my prompts like a boss.

Tell me about the beginning!

We met what is the new traditional way, online. Our first date was very reflective of us, we went for dinner, a multi-sensory thriller art experience and then went to timezone (which sparked our competitive side - Christina still reminds Malcolm that she won the car racing that day).

When and where did you get engaged?

We got engaged on January 26 2024 on the pier/jetty in Lorne - we have some beautiful photos of the moment (where Christina freaked out with everyone watching).

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day? Feel free to elaborate about your choices and venue.

We have a rustic theme for our wedding, lots of terracotta and green throughout to match the venue at the Woolshed. Our inspiration photos are actually from the wedding you photographed at the Woolshed previously (they used the rustic theme perfectly and we really loved what they did with the venue).

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Finally getting to see each other on the day and actually get married with our family around us!

Christina is very excited to be able to show Malcolm her dress (this is not a secret she has been able to keep easily).

Specifically in terms of photos, we think that when we see each other at either end of the aisle it will be a magical moment for us -- the realisation of months of love, anticipation and planning (and that this thing is actually happening!). That will be something really special to capture.

Top Tips!

Being prepared is key, and making decisions early really helps.

Get tips from those who have done it before, and decision paralysis is real thing - the more you look at options the harder a decision will be, so limited yourself for choices really helps.

Also, trying not to have too many life things going on at once (like buying and moving house, moving jobs or having other big family and work commitments going on) - its definitely all possible to do, but not stress that anyone needs!

Once you've made choices, keep off instagram etc. the decision is made, you don't need to start thinking there is something that could be done differently!
