Meaghan & Ryan’s Chapel 1885 Melbourne Wedding

Couple sharing their private vows at their first look in the Atrium Bar Sofitel on Collins

Wow what an amazing day! Meaghan and Ryan’s wedding was one of three weddings this week, so let us just say I am a tad tired, but look at these two superstars. The day went beautifully, starting off at the always grand Sofitel on Collins, photos around the hotel and in the city, followed by the ring exchange at Chapel 1885 in Collingwood.

Tell me about the beginning!

We met in the final year of high school ( funnily enough through our ex partners) and quickly became head over heels for each other!

When and where did you get engaged?

We got engaged in March 2024 in Japan. Ryan proposed at sunset, by the lake, with a picture perfect view of Mount Fuji. We were so lucky, it was the first day in a week that Mount Fuji was perfectly visible.

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day? Feel free to elaborate about your choices and venue.

We wanted our wedding to reflect who we are as a couple. We have always envisioned having a simple and elegant city wedding with all our nearest and dearest, so we instantly fell in love with Chapel 1885.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Besides becoming husband and wife, we are both excited about our private first look and having a boogie on the dancefloor to our favourite songs!

Top Tips for planning your day!

Figure out what is important to you and plan your day from there! We are so glad we chose to have a small intimate wedding, with only our closest friends and family present. It has made the process less stressful and has saved us so much money.

If you want to DIY anything, ensure you do this well in advance!
